When the thickness of the film layer of the pin header increases, the resistance will increase rapidly, and the film layer will become a poor conductor at this time. And the film layer of the pin header will undergo mechanical breakdown under high contact pressure, or electrical breakdown will occur under high voltage and large current. Therefore, it is not suitable to increase the thickness of the film at will when the header is electroplated.
The conductor resistance index of the header and female connector refers to the contact resistance of the header, which mainly includes contact resistance and conductor resistance. And when the conductor resistance is small, the conductor resistance in the circuit is the contact resistance.
In the small-signal circuit of the header and female connector, pay attention to the required condition of the contact resistance index given, because the contact surface of the header and female connector will be attached with oxide layer, oil stains or other debris. Otherwise, the surface of the two contact parts of the pin header and female connector will have film resistance, which will damage the pin header.
